Queens Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming production of Gilbert and Sullivan in Briefs, playing June 21-July 1. The production is written and directed by executive director Ray Cullom.
In Gilbert and Sullivan in Briefs a pompous tenor, a ditsy soprano, a past-her-prime mezzo, and an inebriated Baritone take audiences on a madcap musical race through all 14 of the musical duo’s operettas, from the well-known The Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, and The Mikado to the obscure Princess Ida.
The cast features Matthew Thompson (tenor), Carolann Sanita (soprano), Kate Chapman (mezzo), and Parker Andrews (baritone).
Following its run at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park venue, the show will head to Edinburgh, Scotland where it will play for three weeks at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
