The musical is set to end its run at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
The Tony Award-winning Broadway production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder will end its run at the Walter Kerr Theatre after nearly 1,000 performances on January 17, 2016. The musical officially opened on November 17, 2013.
Featuring music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak and a book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder tells the story of Monty Navarro, who has received the news that he is descended from a noble family and could become the next Earl of Highhurst. There are only eight issues standing in his way: the other heirs who precede him in line for the title. What does Monty choose to do? Eliminate them, of course.
The original cast of the musical was led by Bryce Pinkham as the ladder-climbing Monty and Tony winner Jefferson Mays as all eight of the heirs who stand in his way. The principal company also included Lisa O'Hare, Lauren Worsham, Pamela Bob, Joanna Glushak, Eddie Korbich, Jeff Kready, Mark Ledbetter, Jennifer Smith, Price Waldman, Catherine Walker, and Jane Carr.
A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is directed by Darko Tresjnak, who won a Tony Award for his work. The show premiered at Hartford Stage and later played a run at San Diego's Old Globe.
