“We looked for our new lead in L.A. and New York. During Justin’s rehearsals as the alternate Peter Parker/Spider-Man, we realized this is the guy to take over for Reeve. He is one of Broadway’s great rockers,” said producers Michael Cohl and Jere Harris.
Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, which plays Broadway’s Foxwoods Theatre, features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award winners Bono and The Edge and a book cowritten by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with direction by Taymor and additional direction by Philip William McKinley. The musical received two 2012 Tony Award nominations, for Best Scenic Design of a Musical (George Tsypin) and Best Costume Design of a Musical (Eiko Ishioka).
