Bonnie Milligan, Jeremy Morse, and more will lead the cult disco musical at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
On March 13, Feinstein's/54 Below will present two performances of Rachael Lily Rosenbloom…and Don’t You Ever Forget It! The 1973 musical, which closed after only seven preview performances at the Broadhurst Theatre, will be presented in concert at 7pm and 9:30pm.
Produced by director of programming Jennifer Ashley Tepper with direction by Max Friedman, Rachael Lily Rosenbloom (one of only seven Broadway musicals to close in previews) is described as "Broadway's first disco musical" and has gained cult status since its brief Broadway run. Conceived and cowritten by Paul Jabara (who went on to write the disco hits "Last Dance" and "It's Raining Men"), the musical tells the story of an average girl going from the Brooklyn fish market to the height of Hollywood glamour (whose name includes the 'a' that Barbra Streisand dropped from her own).
Bonnie Milligan (Kinky Boots) will lead the cast as Rachael Lily Rosenbloom, with Jeremy Morse (Waitress) as Ramond De La Troya, Julia Mattison (Godspell) as Stella Starf***er, Kevin Michael Murphy (The Book of Mormon) as Narrator and Others, Natalie Walker (Justin Timberlake vs. Ryan Gosling) as Barbra Streisand and Others, Jason Veasey (The Lion King) as Stud Troy and Others, Charlie Franklin (The Bridges of Madison County) as Stud Trick and Others, Larry Owens (Spamilton) as Old Bill and Others, and Kathryn Allison (Aladdin) as Secretary and Others.
The performances will have new orchestrations by Charlie Rosen and musical direction by Natalie Tenenbaum.
