The 26th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, held Sunday, September 23, has raised a record-breaking $681,892 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
This total beats the previous 2000 record of $574,000, and is up $137,384 over last year’s total of $547,658.
Dozens of shows and organizations were selling merchandise and memorabilia at the event, with members of their respective casts on hand to talk to fans.
Among the highest-selling items of the day were a VIP package to Barbra Streisand‘s upcoming Brooklyn concert complete with meet-and-greet with the star; tickets to the New York movie premiere and opening night party for Les Miserables; and tickets to the Broadway production of Evita that come with a backstage meeting with star Ricky Martin and an autographed shirt that he wore onstage.
