Additional stage luminaries who will be participating in LAByrinth Theater Company’s Tenn 99, a nonstop, 24/7, three-day weekend event celebrating the works of Tennessee Williams, have been announced. The free festival will begin on Friday afternoon March 26 and continue through Sunday evening, March 28 at The Cherry Lane Theater’s Cherry Pit.
Tenn 99 will feature readings of Williams’ writing, including not only plays, but also screenplays, adaptations, essays, and personal letters. The event will begin on what would have been Williams’ 99th birthday.
Newly added participants include theater legend Eli Wallach, along with Vanessa Aspillaga, Bob Balaban, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Liza Colón-Zayas, Maggie Flanigan, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Josh Hamilton, Jessica Hecht, Russell G. Jones, Michael Kelly, Chris Messina, Piper Perabo, Portia, Adam Rapp, Judy Reyes, Annabella Sciorra, Richard Schiff, Kyra Sedgwick, Felix Solis, Phyllis Somerville, Paul Sparks, and Richard Thomas (all subject to continuing availability).
Previously announced participants include Leslie Bibb, Ellen Burstyn, Bobby Cannavale, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jesse L. Martin, Ana Ortiz, Sam Rockwell, John Patrick Shanley, Michael Shannon, Michael Stuhlbarg, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Yul Vázquez. Additional performers will be announced shortly.
Audience participation alongside the performers will be encouraged. Theatergoers will have the ability to show up at any time during the event and sign up to read.
Alongside the offerings at the Cherry Lane, Tenn 99 will feature a Sunday Brunch Event, which will feature theater legends recounting their experiences working with Tennessee Williams. This event will also feature a contests, raffles, souvenirs, and giveaways.
