The concert will serve as a benefit for ”Kinky Boots” cast member Eric LaJuan Summers, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Billy Porter and cast members of the Broadway and touring companies of Kinky Boots will join together tonight at Feinstein's/54 Below for two performances of Kinky Boots Sings Cyndi Lauper. The concerts, music-directed by Will Van Dyke, will serve as a fundraiser for Kinky Boots cast member Eric LaJuan Summers who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
The evening's concerts will feature hits from Cyndi Lauper's career as well as Kinky Boots favorites. Performers featured during the evening will be Billy Porter, Adinah Alexander, Devin Trey Campbell, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Christopher Convery, Holly Davis, Jesus Del Orden, Stephane Duret, Anna Eilinsfeld, Christy Faber, J. Harrison Ghee, Gaelen Gilliland, Blair Goldberg, Natalie Joy Johnson, Jake Katzman, Andy Kelso, Eric Leviton, John Jeffrey Martin, Tommy Martinez, Bonnie Milligan, Alan Mingo Jr., Shannon O’Boyle, Jennifer Perry, and Ricky Schroeder.
Based on the 2005 film, Kinky Boots follows Charlie, who tries to save his recently deceased father's shoe factory from bankruptcy by manufacturing shoes for drag queens. As previously reported, Billy Porter, who originated the role of Lola, will return to the show on September 26 alongside Stark Sands, who originated the role of Charlie.
