Beautiful's Rashidra Scott to Star in Anything Goes at Goodspeed Musicals

The Broadway actress will take on the iconic role of Reno Sweeney.

Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for the classic Cole Porter musical Anything Goes, running from April 8-June 16 at the East Haddam theater. The production's official press opening is set for April 27.

Directed by Daniel Goldstein, Anything Goes features some of Porter's most famous tunes, including "I Get a Kick Out of You," "You're the Top," "It's De-Lovely," "Blow, Gabriel, Blow," and more. With an original book by Guy Bolton, P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay, and Russel Crouse, the musical includes a new book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman.

Rashidra Scott (Beautiful — The Carole King Musical) stars as Reno Sweeney, with David Harris (Les Misèrables) as Billy Crocker, Stephen DeRosa (On the Town) as Moonface Martin, Desiree Davar (West Side Story) as Erma, Hannah Florence (Gigi) as Hope Harcourt, Denise Lute (Monday After the Miracle) as Mrs. Wadsworth T. Harcourt, Benjamin Howes ([title of show]) as Evelyn Oakleigh, Kingsley Leggs (The Color Purple) as Elisha J. Whitney, and Patrick Richwood (Dixie’s Tupperware Party) as the Purser.

The ensemble includes Brittany Bohn, Sy Chounchaisit, Alison Jantzie, Jay Aubrey Jones, John Ramsey, Christopher Shin, Karilyn Surratt, Sam Tanabe, James Tolbert, Edward Tolve, and John T. Wolfe. The swings will be Cooper Taggard and Chiara Trentalange.

The creative team features scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by Brian Tovar, hair and wig design by Mark Adam Rampmeyer, and sound design by Jay Hilton. Michael O’Flaherty will serve as music director, with assistant music direction by William J. Thomas and orchestrations by Dan DeLange.
