Broadway's Beautiful — The Carole King Musical has announced that it will launch a new digital lottery ticket policy beginning March 22. Tickets will now be available for $39.00 the day of the performance via the digital lottery.
A limited number of tickets will be available for all Tuesday-Friday performances. Winners will be notified by email shortly after each drawing, and will have 60 minutes to pay for their tickets with a credit card online. For the week of March 22 only, entries will also be accepted for both performances on March 26 and the matinee on March 27.
With a book by Douglas McGrath and songs from the Gerry Goffin/Carole King/Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil catalogue, Beautiful officially opened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on January 12, 2014. The show follows the life and career of singer-songwriter King and colleagues Goffin, Mann, and Weil, and features songs including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "One Fine Day," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," among others.
The current Broadway cast of Beautiful includes Chilina Kennedy as Carole King, Scott J. Campbell as Gerry Goffin, Tony Award nominee Anika Larsen as Cynthia Weil, Ben Jacoby as Barry Mann, Paul Anthony Stewart as Don Kirshner, Tony Award nominee Liz Larsen as Genie Klein, and an ensemble that includes Gisela Adisa, Josh Davis, Kevin Duda, James Harkness, Sara King, Julia Knitel, Tamika Lawrence, Douglas Lyons, Rob Marnell, Gabrielle Reid, Sara Sheperd, Kimber Sprawl, Yasmeen Sulieman, Nasia Thomas, Daniel Torres, Melvin Tunstall, Alan Wiggins, and Dashaun Young.
As previously announced, Beautiful's own Jessica Keenan Wynn will take over the role Cynthia Weil from original Tony-nominated star Anika Larsen. Larsen's last show is scheduled for April 24.
