Attack of the Elvis Impersonators Will Soon Leave the Building

Attack of the Elvis Impersonators producer Lawrence Rosner announced that Lory Lazarus's musical will be playing its final performance at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row on July 30. By then, it will have played 14 preview and 49 regular performances.

In Attack of the Elvis Impersonators, the soul of Elvis returns to Earth and inhabits the body of the most famous rock star in history. He instructs his disciples that to bring peace to the planet, we must all unite as one — and to do that, the entire human race must impersonate Elvis.

Lazarus wrote the book, music, and lyrics. Under the direction of Don Stephenson, the cast includes Eric Sciotto (Something Rotten!) as Drac Frenzie, Laura Woyasz (Wicked) as Prissy Bordeaux, and Curtis Wiley as Matt Shadow (The Total Bent), with Michael Biren (Crazy for You), Jim Borstelmann (Chicago), Jesse Carrey-Beaver (Dirty Dancing), Badia Farha (Little Shop of Horrors), Warren Kelley (Birdman), Jeff Kready (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Whit K. Lee (Junie B. Jones Essential Survival Guide), Alexandra Palkovic (Smokey Joe's Café), Emily Jeanne Phillips (Elf: The Musical), Catherine Walker (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), and Jayme Wappel (West Side Story).

With choreography by Melissa Zaremba, and music direction, arrangements, and orchestrations by Benjamin Rauhala, the show's creative team includes Paul Tate dePoo III (set design), Tracy Christensen (costume design), Travis McHale (lighting design), Josh Liebert (sound design), and Shawn Duan (projection design).
