Lansbury looks so delightful in these new photos.
A new national tour of Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit — starring Angela Lansbury re-creating Madame Arcati, the role that earned her a fifth Tony Award — officially kicked off its run at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on December 14.
The production is directed by Michael Blakemore, who helmed the 2009 Broadway revival and the 2014 West End production, in which Lansbury also starred. She is joined by her fellow London cast members Charles Edwards (Downton Abbey) and Jemima Rooper (One Man, Two Guvnors), as well as Broadway veteran Charlotte Parry (The Importance of Being Earnest) and 2009 cast members Simon Jones, Susan Louise O'Connor, and Sandra Shipley.
The tour subsequently stops at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco, Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre, and Washington, D.C.'s National Theatre. The production's creative team includes Simon Higlett (scenic and costume design), Martin Pakledinaz (costumes for Angela Lansbury), and Ben and Max Ringham (sound design).
