The Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. will present two events in celebration of the Harlem Renaissance this month.
On September 17, Langston and U will pay tribute to the late poet Langston Hughes with performances by André De Shields, Edgeworks Dance Company, and the Gay’s Men’s Chorus. On September 18, The Lincoln Celebrates U St. & the Harlem Renaissance will salute composer Duke Ellington and feature celebrity guests Jasmine Guy and Blair Underwood as well as a performances from In Series Theatre Company and the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra.
