The new Broadway musical opens at the Palace Theatre on April 12.
The new Broadway musical An American in Paris has announced plans to record a cast album with Masterworks Broadway. Produced by Rob Fisher and Scott Lehrer, the album will be recorded on April 20 prior to a June 2 release.
An American in Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film, the musical features music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin and a book by Craig Lucas. The story follows a young American soldier and a beautiful French girl in a "timeless story of love in a city rebuilding from the heartbreak of World War II." The production will officially open April 12 at the Palace Theatre.
The show's score includes the songs "I Got Rhythm," "Liza," "'S Wonderful," "But Not For Me," "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise," and more.
The cast includes Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan, Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin, Veanne Cox as Madame Baurel, Jill Paice as Milo Davenport, Brandon Uranowitz as Adam Hochberg, and Max von Essen as Henri Baurel.
