
Casting has been announced for Jocelyn Clarke’s Trojan Women (after Euripides), which the SITI Company will perform at the Getty Villa’s Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Theater, to run September 1 – October 1. Anne Bogart will direct the production, which will have original music by Christian Frederickson.
The piece is a retelling of Euripides’ Greek tragedy and focuses on four royal survivors of the Trojan War: queen Hecuba, her prophetic daughter Kassandra, her noble daughter-in-law Andromache, and Helen of Sparta, the paramour of Hecuba’s son Paris.
The company will feature Akiko Aizawa (Kassandra), J. Ed Araiza (Menelaus), Katherine Crockett (Helen), Gian-Murray Gianino (Odysseus), Leon Ingulsrud (Envoy), Ellen Lauren (Hecuba), Barney O’Hanlon (Chorus), Makela Spielman (Andromache), and Brent Werzner (Poseidon).
