Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah will co-star n Joyful Noise, a new film which centers around two women who join forces to prevent a small-town gospel choir from shutting down, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Todd Graff will write and direct the film; his previous features include Camp and Bandslam.
Parton wrote the score for the musical 9 to 5, which played Broadway in 2009 and which will begin a national tour next month. She also co-starred in the film 9 to 5 and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
Latifah received an Oscar nomination for playing Matron Mama Morton in Chicago. Her many films include Last Holiday and Bringing Down the House.
