Works by Sylvia Plath, Edward Anthony, Owen O’Neill Part of 59E59 Theaters’ Fall Season

London’s Inside Intelligence will present Sylvia Plath’s Three Women at 59E59 Theaters this fall, to run October 5-31. Robert Shaw will direct the piece, a1962 radio play focuses on three women and the lessons that they learn from having a child.

In addition, the theater will present New Umbrella’s production of Edward Anthony’s Wish I Had a Sylvia Plath (October 5-31), which focuses on Esther Greenwood, the heroine of Plath’s novel The Bell Jar, alongside Three Women.

In addition, 59E59 will host its first annual Irish Festival, which will include Owen O’Neill’s Absolution (September 8 – October 3) , produced by Dublin’s Guna Nua Theater and directed by Rachel Riordan. O’Neill’s solo show focuses on a man who unleashes a terrible vengeance on the people whose sins he has assumed. Also part of the Festival will be Origin Theatre Company’s production of Aidan Mathews’ Exit/Entrance (September 10 – October 3), to be directed by M. Burke Walker. The piece focuses on a retired classics professor and his wife and examines what happens when a young couple enters their world.

Fall and winter programming at the theater will be rounded out with the annual Brits Off-Broadway, which will run November 2 – January 2. Complete scheduling information will be announced in the near future.

In related news, the theater has announced that it will present Delaney Britt Brewer’s Wolves (August 4-21). Mike Klar will direct the play, which focuses on the events that unfold after a young couple’s car collides with w wolfe on a snowy New Year’s Eve. Casting and creative team will also be announced shortly.
