Urban Stages to Honor Jim Dale at 2018 Gala Benefit

Urban Stages has announced that it will present the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award to Jim Dale at its gala benefit, which will be held at the Boathouse in Central Park on May 14 at 6:30pm. Simon Jones (Farinelli and the King) will present the award to Dale.

Dale's Broadway and off-Broadway credits include Scapino, Barnum (for which he won a Tony Award in 1980), Comedians, Address Unknown, Me and My Girl, Joe Egg, The Road to Mecca, Privates on Parade, Candide, The Music Man, The Threepenny Opera, Travels With My Aunt, and his solo show Just Jim Dale (for which he won a Drama Desk Award in 2015). He is also popularly known for recording all seven Harry Potter audiobooks for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

The gala fundraiser will benefit Urban Stages' upcoming season as well as its Outreach Program, which brings more than 25 different programs to libraries and schools in all five boroughs of NYC.
