Toni Morrison and Peter Sellars will participate in a Salon Benefit for LAByrinth Theater Company, to be presented in The Frieda & Roy Furman Gallery at The Film Society of Lincoln Center, on March 19 at 7:15 pm.

The fund-raiser will be hosted by Jennifer Chambers, Michael & Marlene Fine, Mara Manus, and Marianne & Steve Mills, and the evening will include supper & cocktails.

LAByrinth’s Salon is a series of intimate conversations between artistic luminaries, offering audiences a glimpse into the participants’ inspirations and creative processes. Among other topics, Morrison and Sellars will discuss their ideas about Shakespeare’s Othello as they relate to a long term collaborative project which includes Sellars’s new production of Othello (premiering in June at the Wiener Festwochen, Vienna, with John Ortiz in the title role and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Iago) and Morrison’s thoughts on a modern Desdemona.

In related news, the company has also announced it has inducted 11 new members, including John Doman, Marieke Gaboury, Kevin Geer, Lola Glaudini, Sarah Nina, Kristina Poe, Yolonda Ross, Michael Shannon, Michael Stuhlbarg, Ed Vassallo, and Martha Wollner.
