The 39 Steps will begin an open-ended run on March 25 at New World Stages. No casting has been announced.

Directed by Maria Aitken, the play is a comedic take on Hitchcock’s 1935 classic thriller of the same name about a man who is forced by a mysterious woman’s death into a cross-country race for his life. The play is adapted by Patrick Barlow, based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon and on the book by John Buchan. The play won the 2007 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, as well as two Tony Awards, and two Drama Desk Awards.

The show features set and costume design by Peter McKintosh, lighting design by Kevin Adams, and sound design is by Mic Pool. Original movement was created by Toby Sedgwick. Additional movement is created by Christopher Bayes.

The show had a 771-performance run on Broadway, beginning at the American Airlines Theatre and then moving to the Cort Theatre and then the Helen Hayes Theatre, where it concluded on January 10.
