Playwrights Horizons has announced additional details for three of its upcoming productions.

Suzanne Bertish, Bill Buell, Kristen Elizabeth Bush, Patch Darragh, Laura Heisler, Matthew Rauch, Cotter Smith, Concetta Tomei, and Molly Ward will comprise the complete cast for Bathsheba Doran’s new play Kin, to run February 25-April 3, with an opening on March 21. Sam Gold will direct the play, which chronicles the unlikely romance between an Ivy League poetry scholar, and an Irish personal trainer. The creative team will include Paul Steinberg (set), David Zinn (costumes), Jane Cox (lighting), and Matt Tierney (sound). The previously announced Lily Rabe has withdrawn from the production, due to her continuing on in the Broadway production of The Merchant of Venice.

David Greenspan will star in the world premiere of his play Go Back to Where You Are (March 24-May 1), as a forgotten chorus boy from the theater of Ancient Greece, stuck in a lonely purgatory these past 2000 years, who is sent back to earth on a mission from God.

Peter Friedman and Kevin Cahoon will be featured in the cast of the new musical, The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World (May 12-July 3) , featuring book by Joy Gregory, music by Gunnar Madsen, lyrics by Gregory and Madsen, and story by Gregory, Madsen and John Langs, with direction by Langs. Based on a true story, the show is about a working class dad who believes his vision of rock n’ roll destiny for his three talentless daughters will be the family’s one-way ticket out of hardship and obscurity.
