Roger Moore, 75, the veteran British actor best known for his starring role in seven James Bond films, collapsed on the stage of the Lyceum Theatre yesterday during the matinee performance of The Play What I Wrote.

The British comedy, which stars the team of Sean Foley and Hamish McColl, features a mystery guest star at every performance who takes part in a play-within-the-play entitled A Tight Squeeze for the Scarlet Pimple. Moore, who had been suffering from breathing problems before the performance but decided to go on, collapsed during the climactic dance number. He was able to complete the show and was taken to a hospital afterwards.

Moore was required to remain in the hospital overnight but was reported to be in stable condition.
