Rebecca Hall will join Will Ferrell in Everything Must Go, according to a report in Variety. Dan Rush is writing and directing the movie.

Based on a Raymond Carver short story, the film centers on a relapsed alcoholic (played by Farrell), who loses his job and his wife and decides to live on his front lawn while selling all of his belongings. Hall will play a neighbor who forges a special bond with Ferrell’s character.

Hall starred in the Bridge Project’s productions of The Winter’s Tale and The Cherry Orchard last season. Her screen credits include Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Frost/Nixon, as well as the upcoming films The Town and Please Give.

Ferrell starred on Broadway in You’re Welcome America: A Final Evening With George W. Bush, which received a Tony nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event. His many films include Land of the Lost, Elf, and Anchorman and he is well known for his work on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
