Housing Works Used Book Café Will Host Christopher Shinn/Jo Bonney Discussion logo

Playwright Christopher Shinn and director Jo Bonney will appear at the Housing Works Used Book Café on Tuesday, January 25 at 7pm for a discussion of Shinn's new play On The Mountain, set to open at Playwrights Horizons on February 4. Shinn and Bonney will talk about the writing process, the collaboration between playwrights and directors, and other topics.

The New York Times has hailed Shinn as a "playwright to cherish." Among his works that have been produced in New York are Four, What Didn't Happen, Other People, and Where Do We Live. Bonney's directorial credits include Neil LaBute's Fat Pig, Lisa Loomer's Living Out, and Diana Son's Stop Kiss; Bonney is the recipient of a 1998 Obie Award for Sustained Excellence of Direction and the editor of Extreme Exposure: An Anthology of Solo Performance Texts from the Twentieth Century.

Admission to the January 25 event is free but donations of books are welcome and encouraged. The Housing Works Used Book Café is located at 126 Crosby Street, one block east of Broadway, between Houston and Prince streets. Click here for more information.
