Red Bull Theater announced the casts for the seventh annual Short New Play Festival, which will be presented on Monday, July 24, at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

The casts will include Tina Benko, Bill Buell, Robert Clohessy, Emily Donahoe, Clifton Duncan, Teresa Avia Lim, Joan MacIntosh, Nadine Malouf, Howard W. Overshown, Alfredo Narciso, and Linda Powell.

The event will feature eight world premieres by Dael Orlandersmith, Arthur Kopit, Charlotte Ahlin, Uriah Celaya, Justin Halle, Rachel Leopold, Jason Gray Platt, and Christian Simonsen. Craig Baldwin and Evan Yionoulis will direct these staged readings.

Each year, Red Bull Theater selects "new works of heightened language and classical themes" from over 300 submissions and commission two for the Short New Play Festival. This year, inspired by the chosen theme "Delusions of Grandeur," playwrights delivered work "that makes use of any, or all, of the following: heightened language or verse; a classical theme or style; a classical story."
