The 2019 Golden Globe Award nominees have been announced, and Tony winners Billy Porter and Lin-Manuel Miranda have topped the list.

Miranda and leading lady Emily Blunt are up for their performances in Mary Poppins Returns, which also received a Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy nod. Composer Marc Shaiman is also nominated for his score, though none of the songs that Shaiman penned with longtime writing partner Scott Wittman made it into the "Best Original Song" category. Porter received a nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama category for his work on Pose.

Additional theater veterans nominated in film categories include Glenn Close (The Wife), Bradley Cooper (who, along with Lady Gaga, are nominated for A Star Is Born), Lucas Hedges (Boy Erased), Adam Driver (BlacKkKlansman), and Timothée Chalamet (Beautiful Boy).

On the television side, stage vets Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown), Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Debra Messing (Will & Grace), and Darren Criss (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) are all up for honors.
