Isabelle Huppert to Play Blanche Dubois in Un Tramway in Paris

Isabelle Huppert will star as Blanche DuBois in Un Tramway, an adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, to run at Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe in Paris February 4 – April 3. Krzysztof Warlikowski will direct the production, which uses the adaptation he created with Wajdi Mouawad and Piotr Gruszczynski.

The Award-winning French actress was most recently seen on stage in New York in Quartett at the Brooklyn Academy of Music last year. Her many film credits include The Piano Teacher, La dentellière, and Heaven’s Gate.

The Streetcar company will also feature Andrzej Chyra (Stanley), Yann Collette (Mitch), Renate Jett (Eunice), Cristián Soto (Young Man), and Florence Thomassin (Stella).

The creative team will include Malgorzata Szczesniak (scenic and costume design), Felice Ross (lighting design), Pawel Mykietyn (original music), and Denis Guéguin (video design).
