Tony nominee Mike Faist (Dear Evan Hansen) and Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea) will star in the West End premiere of Brokeback Mountain, a new drama based on Annie Proulx’s short story of the same title.

Written by Ashley Robinson, Brokeback Mountain will run May 10-August 12 at the new venue @sohoplace. The production will feature songs by Dan Gillespie Sells and direction by Jonathan Butterell, who previously collaborated on the West End hit Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Faist will play Jack, with Hedges as Ennis. Singer Eddi Reader will take on the role of the Balladeer, performing songs by Gillespie Sells alongside band members Sean Green (piano/musical director), Meelie Traill (upright bass), Julian Jackson (chromatic harmonica), and BJ Cole (pedal steel guitar).

The play is designed by a team including Tom Pye for set and costumes, David Finn for lighting, and Christopher Shutt for sound.

Brokeback Mountain is set in 1953 Wyoming and tells the story of two male cowboys who develop a hidden romantic relationship amid their conservative community. The play is produced by Nica Burns with Adam Blanshay Productions, Lambert Jackson Productions, and Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment.
