Dallas Theater Center Presents World Premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's Clarkston
The new play begins its run this evening.
Taking place in the heart of the New American West just steps away from the Lewis and Clark trail, the play tells the story of Chris, an up-and-coming writer, and Jake, a descendent of William Clark. The two meet while stocking television and cheese puffs, and their humorous and poignant journey together toward an uncertain future proves that often the most important path is the one between two people.
Davis McCallum directs Hunter's play, which features Heidi Armbruster, Sam Lilja, and Taylor Trensch.
"Sam Hunter is one of my favorite writers creating in the American theater today," said artistic director Kevin Moriarty. "His ability to create characters of complexity and depth with both a clear eye and an empathetic heart lends his work a unique power. It is a great joy to be able to share the world premiere of his newest play with our Dallas audiences."
The creative team includes Drew Boyce (set design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), Eric Southern (lighting design), and Stowe Nelson (sound design).
Performances will run through January 31.
