The Illustrious Blacks will lead the company.

The Flea has announced the cast for Beyond the Stardust, an immersive nightlife spectacle conceived by artistic director Niegel Smith and performance duo the Illustrious Blacks.
Running September 10-October 18, the production is described as follows: “Featuring 12 original songs, stunning visuals, and a host of nightlife’s most enchanting aerialists, dancers, go-go boys, girls, and they/thems, Beyond the Stardust is an Afro-disco-space-punk-extravaganza of no-fucks-futurist-fabulousness, inviting audiences into intercosmic dance floor liberation.”
Starring the Illustrious Blacks—Monstah and Black!—Beyond the Stardust will also feature Amazonian Rockstar, Courtney J. Cook, and DeShawn Marshall, Blaine Petrovia, and Queen Ravenden.
Smith co-created the production, wrote the book, and directs and choreographs. The Illustrious Blacks serve as co-creators, lyricists, and composers, with music created in collaboration with W. Andrew Raposo.
The creative team also includes scenic and props designer Oscar Escobedo, lighting designer Kate McGee, costume designer DeShon Elem, and sound designer German Martinez.
