The Kevin Kline-led revival of Noël Coward's Present Laughter celebrated its opening night at Broadway's St. James Theatre on April 5. Moritz von Stuelpnagel directs the production.

Present Laughter follows a self-obsessed actor (Kline) in the midst of a mid-life crisis. Juggling his considerable talent, ego and libido, the theater's favorite leading man suddenly finds himself caught between fawning ingenues, crazed playwrights, secret trysts, and unexpected twists.

Kline stars as Garry Essendine. He is joined by Cobie Smulders as Joanna Lyppiatt, Kristine Nielsen as Monica Reed, Kate Burton as Liz Essendine, and Tedra Millan as Daphne Stillington. Also in the cast are Bhavesh Patel as Roland Maule, Tony Award nominee Reg Rogers as Morris Dixon, Matt Bittner as Fred, Ellen Harvey as Miss Erikson, Obie Award winner Peter Francis James as Henry Lyppiatt, and Sandra Shipley as Lady Saltburn. Kelley Curran, Rachel Pickup, James Riordan, and David L. Townsend complete the cast.

The production features set design by David Zinn, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Fitz Patton, and hair design by Josh Marquette.
