Jeff McCarthy, Debra Jo Rupp Set for Barrington Stage Company’s 2012 Season

Barrington Stage Company has announced its complete 2012 season, which will begin with the previously reported Mainstage production of the Jerry Bock-Sheldon Harnick-Joseph Stein musical, Fiddler on the Roof, to run June 13-July 14. Gary John LaRosa will direct and choreograph, with music direction by Darren R. Cohen.

Also on the Mainstage, Jeff McCarthy will star in Arthur Miller’s The Price (July 19-August 4), to be directed by Julianne Boyd. Philip King’s 1945 British comedy, See How They Run (August 9-26) will be directed by John Rando. Nigel Williams’ stage adaptation of the William Golding novel, Lord of the Flies, will receive its New England premiere, October 3-21.

On BSC’ Stage 2, Aaron Posner will direct the New England premiere of Lungs (May 23-June 10), by Duncan Macmillan. Mark St. Germain’s new play Dr. Ruth, All the Way (June 19-July 15) will be directed by Julianne Boyd, and star Debra Jo Rupp. Giovanna Sardelli will direct the East Coast premiere of Rajiv Joseph’s The North Pool (July 26-August 11).

In the Musical Theatre Lab, John Simpkins will direct a workshop production of the garage rock band musical The Black Suits (August 16-September 2), featuring music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, and a book co-written with Robert Maddock.

BSC Youth Theatre will perform this year in the Berkshire Museum, and include the Berkshire premiere of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (July 25-August 12).
