Anika Noni Rose will headline American Conservatory Theater’s Crystal Ball gala, to be held on April 18 at the Forum at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Mark Rucker is creating and directing the entertainment for the event, which will raise funds for the A.C.T. Conservatory.

The performance will be preceded by a cocktail reception and dinner. Also scheduled to perform are current A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts Program and Young Conservatory students.

Rose, who won a Tony Award for her performance in Caroline or Change, also starred on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Her film and television credits include Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, Dreamgirls, and The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.

The A.C.T. Conservatory provides training for children as young as eight to adults and seniors through its Master of Fine Arts Program, Young Conservatory, Studio A.C.T., and Summer Training Congress.
