Musicals in Mufti to Feature The Housewives’ Cantata and Tomfoolery

The York Theatre Company’s Musicals in Mufti series of staged concert performances will continue this fall with The Housewives’ Cantata (October 21-23) and Tomfoolery (October 28-30).

Featuring music by Mira J. Spektor with lyrics by June Siegel, The Housewives’ Cantata is a cabaret-style revue that follows the stories of three women… one of whom takes a tremendous journey to become the first female President of the United States. Karen Carpenter will direct.

Tomfoolery features the words and music of Tom Lehrer, and is adapted by Cameron Mackintosh and Robin Ray, with musical arrangements by Chris Walker and Robert Fisher. This revue of the satirical songwriter’s works includes such tunes as The Old Dope Peddler,” “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park,” and “The Vatican Rag.” Pamela Hunt will direct.
