Public Theater's Mobile Shakespeare Unit Macbeth to Star Rob Campbell and Jennifer Ikeda

The production will tour community venues and prisons across the New York City boroughs before playing a run on Lafayette Street.

The Public Theater's Mobile Shakespeare Unit will return this spring with a touring production of Macbeth, to be directed by Edward Torres.

The free Mobile Unit tour, running April 24-May 14, will bring free Shakespeare to audiences with limited or no access to the arts, including prisons, homeless shelters, and the Public Works community partners. Following its run in the boroughs, the production will play a sit-down engagement at the Public Theater May 17-June 7, with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 20.

The cast of eight is led by Rob Campbell as Macbeth and Third Murderer, Keith Eric Chappelle as Banquo and Bloody Sargeant, Jennifer Ikeda as Lady Macbeth and First Witch, Nicole Lewis as Lady Macduff and Second Witch, Teresa Avia Lim as Third Witch and Lennox, Nick Mills as Porter and Ross, Daniel Pearce as Macduff and Duncan, and James Udom as Malclom and Old Man. The production features scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Amanda Seymour, and music composition by Michael Thurber.

May 1: Queensboro Correctional Facility, Queens

May 4: Lenox Hill Women’s Mental Health Shelter at the Park Avenue Armory, Manhattan

May 5: Metropolitan Detention Center (Male Population), Brooklyn

May 6: Metropolitan Correctional Center, Manhattan

May 7: Rose M. Singer Center, Rikers Island

May 8: Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn

May 9: Faber Park Field House, Staten Island

May 11: ICL Personalized Recovery-Oriented Services, Brooklyn

May 12: Taconic Correctional Facility, Westchester

May 13: Metropolitan Detention Center (Female Population), Brooklyn
