Bogosian, Hoffman, Meara Set for The Little Flower of East Orange Reading

Eric Bogosian, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Anne Meara will join Elizabeth Canvan, Jeffrey DeMunn, Richie Petrocelli, and Lauren Velez in a free reading of The Little Flower of East Orange, written and directed by Stephen Adly Guirgis, on Monday, December 19 at 7pm and 9pm at The Public Theater.

The reading is part of the LAByrinth Theater Company’s ongoing 2005 Barn Series Festival. Guirgis is the author of Our Lady of 121st Street (which was directed by Hoffman), Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and In Arabia We’d All Be Kings.

Bogosian is a noted actor and playwright who appeared as Satan in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Hoffman, LAByrinth’s co-artistic director, is a two-time Tony Award nominee for True West and Long Day’s Journey Into Night. He is the star of the current film Capote, for which he has received Best Actor awards from the L.A. Film Critics Circle and the National Board of Review, as well as a Golden Globe nomination. Meara is part of the great comedy team Stiller & Meara and an actress with numerous credits include the play Eastern Standard and the HBO series Sex and the City.
