Karen Allen will star in Rattlestick Playwrights Theater’s production of Jon Fosse’s A Summer Day, to be presented at the Cherry Lane Theatre, beginning October 10, with an opening set for October 25.

This American premiere, translated and directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde, is set in two time periods in the same idyllic house as a visit to an old friend sparks the memory of a visit years earlier and the mysterious disappearance of a loved one.

Allen won a Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut as Helen Keller in William Gibson’s The Monday After the Miracle. Additional credits include Speaking in Tongues, The Country Girl, and Extremities. Film credits include Raiders of the Lost Ark, Starman, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
