Entertainment legend Liza Minnelli will be the recipient of the Rolex Dance Award, to be presented to her at Career Transition for Dancers’ 27th Anniversary Jubilee, entitled JUMP FOR JOY A Dance Variety Spectacular. The event will be held at New York City Center on Monday, November 5 at 7pm. As previously reported, five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury will host.
The show, produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo, will weave together all genres and dance styles. It will be followed by a Supper at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.
Minnelli’s most recent Broadway show, Liza’s at the Palace, won a 2009 Tony for Best Special Theatrical Event. She also won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for Flora the Red Menace and The Act. She won the Academy Award for Cabaret and the Emmy Award for Liza With a “Z”.
