The Broadway production of The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess has extended its run and will now play through September 30.

Norm Lewis and Audra McDonald, who play the title roles, will stay in the production through the extension.

Directed by Diane Paulus, choreographed by Ronald K. Brown, and featuring an adaptation by Suzan-Lori Parks and Deidre L. Murray, the show is set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, where the beautiful Bess struggles to break free from her scandalous past, and the only one who can rescue her is the crippled but courageous Porgy.
