The film is directed by Mira Nair, and features a screenplay dapted by William Wheeler from the 2007 novel by Mohsin Hamidout a young Pakistani working on Wall Street when 9/11 shatters his bright future. Peter Gabriel is composing a new original score.

The cast will feature Tony Award winner Liev Schreiber, Broadway and screen star Kiefer Sutherland, along with Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson, Martin Donovan, Om Puri and Shabana Azmi.
