Broadway stars Raúl Esparza and Valarie Pettiford will join host and creator Lucie Arnaz for Babalu, to run July 8-11 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami. Arnaz’s brother, Desi Arnaz, Jr., will also make a guest appearance playing percussion at the concerts.

Babalu is a tribute to the music of Desi Arnaz, Sr. The performers will offer many of his hits — including the song that gives the show its title — accompanied by a 15-piece orchestra which will play from the original Desi Arnaz Orchestra charts. Ron Abel will serve as music director. The show will also feature performances by local Miami dancers, choreographed by Ramon Del Barrio.

A previous version of the show was presented earlier this year at the 92nd Street Y in New York City as part of its Lyrics & Lyricists series.
