Stephen M. Genovese to Direct BoHo Theatre’s The Rainmaker

BoHo Theatre will present N. Richard Nash’s classic American play The Rainmaker this spring. The production runs April 6-May 6, at Theater Wit. BoHo’s artistic advisor Stephen M. Genovese will direct.

Set in the hard years of the Depression-era Dustbowl, The Rainmaker is a story of recognizing the beauty and potential locked away inside all of us. Saddled to a failing cattle ranch, the only woman in a family of menfolk, Lizzie Curry has just about given up hope of finding love and escape. But when a charming trickster named Starbuck breezes into town promising to bring rain for $100, Lizzie’s father gives the man the last of the family’s savings, knowing that what he has to offer them, and Lizzie, is more than just rain.

The cast includes Thad Anzur, Robert Frankel, Daniel Gilbert, Anna Hammonds, Matthew Keffer, Russell Alan Rowe, and Nate Santana.

The creative team also includes lighting design by Diane D. Fairchild, costume design by Theresa Ham, sound design by Peter Robel, prop design by Cassy Schillo, and dramaturgy by Ariel Trocino.
