Michael Therriault will star as Leo Frank in the Canadian premiere of Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry's Parade, to be presented at the Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs, December 30-January 22, with an official opening on January 3. Joel Greenberg will direct.

Featuring a book by Alfred Uhry and music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, the musical takes place in 1913 Atlanta, Georgia. After a teenaged factory employee is raped and murdered, Leo Frank, the young Jewish manager of the factory, is charged with the crime. Manipulating witnesses and tampering with evidence, the prosecution succeeds in convincing the jury that the wrongly accused Frank is guilty. Parade recounts the press frenzy and public outrage surrounding the trial and conviction, including the crusade for justice amid religious intolerance, political injustice and racial tension fought by Frank's wife Lucille, to be played by Tracy Michailidis.

The cast will also include Neil Barclay, Jessica Greenberg, Sarite Harris, Darren A. Herbert, Alana Hibbert, Jeff Irving, Gabrielle Jones, George Masswohl, Mark McGrinder, Paige Robson-Cramer, Jordy Rolfe, Jay Turvey, and Mark Uhre.

The production will feature set and costume design by Michael Gianfrancesco and lighting design by Kimberly Purtell.

Therriault has performed numerous shows with the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and has appeared on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof. He also starred as Gollum in the London premiere of the musical version of The Lord of the Rings.
