Tony Yazbeck and Ben Jacoby to Star in City of Angels at Ogunquit Playhouse

Ogunquit Playhouse announced complete casting for its production of City of Angels, featuring a book by Larry Gelbert, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by David Zippel. Directed by Hunter Foster, City of Angels runs July 23-August 22.

The production will star Ben Jacoby as Stine and Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck as Stone, with Stephen DeRosa as Buddy Fiddler/Irwin S. Irving, Omar Lopez-Cepero as Muńoz/Pancho Vargas, Lili Thomas as Carla Haywood/Alaura Kingsley, Bella Serrano as Mallory Kingsley/Avril Raines, Alysha Umphress as Gabby/Bobbi, and Danielle Wade as Donna/Oolie.

The cast will also include Katie Anderson, Josh Canfield, Meghan Olivia Corbett, Kyle de la Cruz Laing, Jackson Dunlap, Rick Faugno, Sam Foti, Claire Marshall, Steven Martella, Elliott Mattox, Daniel Reardon, Aaron Michael Ray, Alysia Vastardis, and Riley Wesson.

City of Angels features choreography by Jennifer Rias, music direction by Jeffrey Campos, scenic design by Nate Bertone, costume design by Jennifer Caprio, lighting design by José Santiago, sound design by Kevin Heard, and wig/hair and make-up design by Roxanne De Luna.

In this Tony Award-winning musical, New York novelist Stine is lured to Hollywood to adapt his detective stories for the silver screen. The story weaves between the vivid technicolor reality of 1940s Hollywood and the gritty, black-and-white film noir of Stine’s imagination.
