Darlesia Cearcy and More Join Jeremy Kushnier in Footloose at the Muny
The complete cast and creative team is set for the new production of the musical based on the 1984 film.
The Muny has announced the complete cast and creative team for its new production of Footloose, running July 18-24.
Joining the previously announced Jeremy Kushnier (Rev. Shaw Moore), Mason Reeves (Ren McCormack), and McKenzie Kurtz (Ariel Moore) are Heather Ayers (Vi Moore), Darlesia Cearcy (Ethel McCormack), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Lulu Warnicker), Aaron Kaburick (Wes Warnicker), Khailah Johnson (Rusty), Maggie Kuntz (Urleen), Katja Rivera Yanko (Wendy Jo), Andrew Alstat (Chuck Cranston), Eli Mayer (Willard Hewitt), Florrie Bagel (Betty Blast), Rebecca Young (Eleanor Dunbar), Patrick Blindauer (Coach Dunbar), Ben Nordstrom (Cowboy Bob), and Jerry Vogel (Principal Clark).
The ensemble includes Maya Bowles, Francine Espiritu, Abbey Friedmann, Rohit Gopal, Kaylee Guzowski, Kennedy Holmes, Zachary Daniel Jones, Graham Keen, Kelly MacMillan, Lena Owens, Whit Reichert, Antonio Rodriguez, Jonathan Savage, Trevor Michael Schmidt, Gabi Stapula, Christopher Tipps, and Zoe Vonder Haar. The company will also be joined by the Muny Kid and Teen youth ensemble.
The creative team includes Tim Mackabee (scenic design), Leon Dobkowski (costume design), Rob Denton (lighting design), John Shivers and David Patridge (sound design), Greg Emetaz (video design), and Kelley Jordan (wig design).
Footloose features music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Dean Pitchford. The stage adaptation premiered on Broadway in 1998 and featured Kushnier making his Broadway debut as Ren McCormack. It was nominated for four Tony Awards, and was cowritten by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, based on Pitchford's screenplay for the original 1984 hit film. Additional music was contributed by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins, and Jim Steinman.
