A new musical set in the '90s grunge scene and featuring the music of bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden has been commissioned by Seattle Repertory Theatre, according to Variety.

Cocreated by O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg and playwright Matt Schatz, the show will include music from the BMG publishing catalogue. Former Nirvana manager, Manage This Media's Janet Billig Rich, and MG executive Elyse Cogan, are also associated with the project. Goldberg is set to direct.

The musical's plot will follow a Seattle-based musician and the rival who may have killed him. Further details, including title and casting information will be announced at a later time.
