The full cast has been announced for the first year of the North American tour of the Death Becomes Her.
Leading the company are Jackie Burns as Madeline Ashton, Kristen Beth Williams as Helen Sharp, Ken Marino as Ernest Menville, Nasia Thomas as Viola Van Horn, Louis A. Williams Jr. as Chagall, Michael Buchanan as Stefan, and Gail Bennett, who will serve as standby for Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp.
In the ensemble are Calvin Cooper, Nick Cortazzo, Tiki Hopson, Karma Jenkins, Tyler Jimenez, Caroline Kane, Bryn Purvis, Jordan Vasquez, and Candace Janin Washington. Swings include Ian Liberto, McKinley Knuckle, Alicia Albright, and Savannah Cooper
Based on the 1992 Universal Pictures film written by David Koepp and Martin Donovan and directed by Robert Zemeckis, Death Becomes Her is about two frenemies who each purchase an elixir that promises eternal life. They know it’s the real deal when they immediately start trying to kill each other.
The musical comedy features direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Schmigadoon!), a book by Marco Pennette, and an original score by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey.
TheaterMania’s review called it “the funniest new musical comedy on Broadway,” when it opened in November 2024.
As previously announced, a North American tour will launch at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square September 12-October 3. Future stops includes Columbus, St. Louis, Nashville, Atlanta, and Ft. Lauderdale. You can see a complete list of tour stops here.
