Rob McClure, Dan Olmstead, et al. Set for Walnut Street Theatre’s Amadeus

Full casting has been announced for Walnut Street Theatre’s all-new production of Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus, to run January 18-March 6, with an opening on January 26. Malcolm Black will direct.

Inspired by Alexander Pushkin’s 1830 poem “Mozart and Salieri,” the play depicts encounters between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a youthful, arrogant composer in eighteenth century Vienna, and Antonio Salieri, the Viennese court composer who has pledged his life’s work to God.

The cast will be led by Dan Olmstead as Salieri and Rob McClure as Mozart. It will also feature Bev Appleton (Valet), Ian D. Clark (Baron von Swieten), Edward Furs (Count von Strack), Melissa Joy Hart (Theresa), Anthony Lawton (Venticelli 1), Louis Lippa (Kappelmeister Bono), Ellie Mooney (Constanze), John Morrison (Cook), Emily Rast (Katherina), Peter Schmitz (Rosenburg), Greg Wood (Emperor Joseph III), John Zak (Venticelli 2), and Johnny Smith (Ensemble).

Extras will include Hilary Kale Crist, Lanston Darby, Catherine Logan, Benjamin Lovell, Matt Mancuso, Michelle Pauls, Caroline Rhoads, and Sarah Schol.

The creative team will include Paul Wonsek (set and lighting), Colleen Grady (costumes), and Christopher Colucci (sound).
