Oregon Shakespeare to Restage Performances in Lithia Park Due to Unexpected Closure of Angus Bowmer Theatre

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will restage performances that were to play in the Angus Bowmer Theatre in a large tent structure that will be erected in Lithia Park, adjacent to the Festival campus. The move is necessary due to structural damage of the main support beam of the theatre, which has been been closed to the public since Saturday morning, June 18.

The main structure of the tent is roughly 66-feet by 120-feet, with seating for 600. A date for the opening of the tent will be announced shortly.

The Angus Bowmer is expected to be closed for an additional four to six weeks, as repairs are made. Prior to the opening of the Lithia Park tent, Angus Bowmer performances have been temporarily relocated to either the Historic Ashland Armory or the Dorothy Stolp Center Stage Theatre.
