Broadway Records and Yellow Sound Label have announced that The Beast in the Jungle (Original Score Recording) will be released digitally and in stores on Friday, September 14. The album is currently available for pre-order at www.BroadwayRecords.com and Amazon.

Inspired by Henry James's classic 1903 novella, The Beast in the Jungle is the story of John Marcher, a man haunted by personal demons, whose great yet unfulfilled love affair with an unforgettable woman spans decades and continents. The original dance play had its world premiere at the Vineyard Theatre in the spring and featured an instrumental score by four-time Tony Award winner John Kander (Cabaret), a book by two-time Tony nominee David Thompson (Steel Pier), and choreography by five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (The Producers) — the same creative team behind the Vineyard Theatre's The Scottsboro Boys.

The Vineyard cast included Teagle F. Bougere (The Crucible), former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Irina Dvorovenko (Grand Hotel), and Tony nominees Peter Friedman (Ragtime) and Tony Yazbeck (On the Town). Maira Barriga (Miami City Ballet's corps de ballet), Elizabeth Dugas (The Metropolitan Opera's The Merry Widow), Sara Esty (An American in Paris), Leah Hofmann (Something Rotten!), Naomi Kakuk (The Producers), Brittany Marcin Maschmeyer (Bullets Over Broadway), Erin N. Moore (Shuffle Along), and Clifton Samuels (Follies) rounded out the ensemble.

The recording is produced by Michael Croiter and David Loud, and coproduced by Kumiko Yoshii, Una Jackman, and Jay Alix, with orchestrations by Greg Anthony Rassen and Sam Davis.
