The New Group's upcoming revival of Sweet Charity, starring two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster, has extended its run at the Pershing Square Signature Center through December 23. The extension adds two weeks to a run previously slated to end December 11, with a first performance set for November 2 and a press opening scheduled for November 20.

Sweet Charity will be directed by Leigh Silverman, with choreography by Joshua Bergasse. In addition to Foster, who takes on the title role, the cast will include Asmeret Ghebremichael (The Book of Mormon) as Nickie, Tony winner Shuler Hensley (Waiting for Godot) as Oscar, Sasha Hutchings (Hamilton) as Rosie/Ensemble, Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women on the Verge…) as Ursula/Ensemble, Emily Padgett (Bright Star) as Helene, and Joel Perez (Fun Home) as Herman/Vittorio/Daddy Brubeck. The ensemble will also include Yesenia Ayala, Darius Barnes, and James Brown III, with Donald Jones, Jr. Lori Ann Ferreri, and Ryan Worsing as swings.

Featuring a book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, the show is timed to the 50th anniversary of the classic musical. The story follows Charity Hope Valentine (Foster), the sassy, diehard romantic dancehall hostess whose naivety and overeager embrace of every man she meets keeps getting her in hot water.
